Ariah at 16 months

This little baby has quickly turned into a girl and I cannot believe how fast it went. She is so much fun to play with and is so interactive now.

Here are a few of my favorite things:
  • She loves to play with her baby dolls, she will hold them and rock them and sing to them just how I do it to her. It melts my heart.
  • She is a great hugger. I never thought I would have the baby that would lean her head on my shoulder and put her little arm around my neck. When she does it I wish I could hold onto that moment forever.
  • I love the times she gets to lay in bed with us when I usually hold her close she will put her arm around my neck and her leg around my waste. Oh it is such a great moment in my life.

Some new talents:

She loves to say cheese for the camera.

She loves to climb the kitchen chairs and stand on the table when I am not looking. (our chairs stay tipped over most of the time now to help her avoid temptation)

She is a great singer:
Me: Old McDonald had a farm...
Ariah: E-i-E-i-E-i-Ye-Yi-YOOOOO
Me: and on that farm he had a duck
Ariah: E-I-OHHH
Me: with a..
Ariah: Cack- Cack- Cack

A little spicy personality:
  • She is very vocal if she wants or does not want something. If she wants it she says Mommy, mommy, mommy continually until you get it for her. And if she does not want something she says no, no, no, no until you get it out of her sight or get her something she wants instead.
  • She is very DETERMINED! She will try over and over to do what she wants no matter how many obstacles are in her way. For example, she likes to try to climb on the couch. That girl will try for a good fifteen minuets to climb up there. In the mean time she does not get frustrated often she just tries harder until she reaches her breaking point Enter the tantrum era..... Sometimes this is a great quality but other times when she wants to do something inappropriate it is very frustrating for Landon and I to get her to change her mind.
Other quirks:

She is a dipper. If she will not try a new food we break out the ketchup or yogurt or some other form of dip and she will try anything.

Meal time is also full of a lot of mind games, we have to convince her that it is yummy or that there is something in there like raisins that she loves so she will try it.

She loves to smear her food all over her tray if I let her and feeding herself is often the only option to get her to eat.
Ariah and Franchesca are loving that thier mom's let loose with the pudding

I am teaching her body parts and more often that not she likes to find them on someone else rather than herself. She will honk just about anyone's nose or tickle their toes. She also likes to find others belly buttons. I just think that it is because her little tummy sticks out so far she can't see her own. :)

She loves to sing and dance

She can spot a dog from a mile away and excitedly shouts "Puppy, A Puppy!"

Each time she hears an Airplane she reaches her hand to the sky and shouts "Airpane!" even if we are in the house.

She loves to dump out all her toys at once. (We are working on a solution to that, don't ask me how that is going)

So to sum it all up we are having the time of our lives and loving just about every moment! Love you Ariah!!
