Ariah Stone

At least that is how the birth certificate reads at the moment. Who would have thought that it would be so hard to decide how to spell a name. Probably just because we invented the name. Well here are the stats.
1:00 am Contractions start-- they start at about five minuets apart and varied from 5 to 1 min apart at the get go. Ouch.
2:15 am Went to the hospital
3:00 am Initial assessment says that I can stay at the hospital, I was at a 7 and 100% effaced, still having very frequent contractions.
4:00 ish am. EPIDURAL!!! Landon agrees the best thing in the whole world. We both tried to sleep for a while but we were both a little hyped up.
9:15 ish I have reached a 9 but the contractions have stopped. They put me on pitocin and they started back up.
10:15 the nurse says we are going to try to push for about 15 min. She says that it takes over an hour for first time moms to push so we will get started and call the Dr. when we start to get close.
15 min later.... the Dr. is called in, baby is coming now.
5 min later... 10:44 am. TA DAH! Ariah is here. They kept asking if it was really my first baby because I pushed really well and she came so fast. It may have just been flattery since they knew what I had just gone through.

Graduation 2009

April 10, 2009
This was my last semester at BYU-I. When we found out that we were having a baby I asked to be able to attend my off semester so I could graduate before she came. We have been blessed so many ways like this with our little un-planned baby. People ask what I graduated in, I like to brake it down because the title "University Studies" does not do justice. I recieved my two year degree in Medical Assisting. In October 2008 I took the certification exam and passed with a pretty good score I might add. This is great because if I can keep my certification up it would be a great job to fall back on if I ever desire to work again. Then for my four year degree the university offers a cluster program where you can choose an area you would like to specialize in and take credits in that feild. I did cluster in family nursing, where you learn nursing skills for each stage of life, and home and family science which were classes teaching how to manage a home. I have been very blessed to gain a great education that I use every day.

Baby Showers

March 21, 2009
My mom and sister and I threw together my baby shower in about a week. My family in Boise had spring break so they were able to come by with their kids. It was a lot of fun. Mostly family were in attendance so it was intimate and a lot of fun. My mom did a great job throwing everything together and she found some really great games. She also made the food! She is so great. I can't thank her enough for all she did for the shower. If you were not informed about the shower I'm so sorry. We did not even send out invitations we just called all the people we could think of 1 week before. It would be my fault too because I did not invite if I knew you could not make it, I didn't want to any one to feel guilty for not being able to come. The gifts were awesome and really gave me a head start with things I would need before she comes. The last couple of weeks I have been putting her things together and it was so fun to go through all her things and imagine her being able to use everything. It made things so real.

Felicia, Carolyn and Brylie.
Megan and Carly, my twin nieces. My due date falls on their 9th birthday. They are very excited to say the least.
The boys in attendance. My brother Justin and Cruz, my newest nephew (Not Justin's baby)
Part of the crew.

One of the games was to sculpt a baby out of play-dough. The big pink one is on its stomach to show off the curvaceous bottom. --Sculptor-- Justin Ricks (My older brother)
We also had to cut a string to guess how big around my belly was. 7 mo.

I was also spoiled enough to have a second baby shower thrown by the girls at work. We went to Craigo's to eat and played a couple of games. We talked and had a lot of fun and I received some more great gifts. Thanks for Heidi and Michelle for also paying for my dinner! Good thing it was all you could eat or I would have racked up quite the bill :)!
