The fiasco

6/18/09
I'm sure many of you have similar stories... So Ariah has figured out how to aim up when she poops and is rather fond of having less poop in her diaper than out side. On this particular day she aimed up and shot like a bazooka. Poop everywhere. Not only did it get on her clothes, she literally had so much force that she blew through her clothes then through mine. I even had poop on my underwear. (Not my own of course) So I stripped us both down to the undies and went in her room to get her some clean clothes then *ding ding* round two! She puked all over the rest of the dry parts of me. I have never laughed so hard. Good thing I felt like laughing because If it was not that I think I would have cried.

I also wanted to state that Ariah is sporting a pretty cool hair do these days. No matter what I do it stands straight up on top and lays down in the back. I told Landon that she has a backwards mullett; party in the front and business in the back. She is a cutie!

The first two weeks

I had no idea how much having a baby would change everything. She has changed our routines that is for sure but she has also brought with her more faith and prayers than I have ever had or needed. First time moms can agree that having a baby is... I can't find the right words to say. Overwhelming is the best I can come up with. You are overwhelmed with so many things at the same time for example: love for the baby, (I'm sorry to say) envy for your baby and the time they consume, responsibility, changing hormones and many other things. But at the end of the day she smiles that gummy smile in her sleep and it is all worth it.
I have a great baby. She sleeps very well, even at night I can put her down awake and she will put herself to sleep. Night was the time that I dreaded more than anything in the beginning because she would choke on her spit up the first few nights. Many prayers have been answered that have given me enough comfort to sleep while she is sleeping. She is a lot of fun so far and I cannot believe how much she changes every day.
A few firsts:
First time dad changed her diaper- she pee'd on him
First sponge bath- she loved, she rolls her eyes back in her head when you wash her hair
First real bath- she did not like, she screamed the whole time (also had bad gas that day) then she pooped on the towel when she was drying off.
What an adventure!
